ARCHETYPE Tumor focality (openEHR-EHR-CLUSTER.tumour_focality.v0)

ARCHETYPE IDopenEHR-EHR-CLUSTER.tumour_focality.v0
ConceptTumor focality
DescriptionDescribes the focality or focus of the tumor in a cancer patient.
UseTo record the focality of the tumor in a patient with a cancer diagnosis. This cluster archetype was created specifically for the SLOT ‘Specific information’ of the EVALUATION.problem_diagnosis archetype. However, when clinically appropriate, may be added as a slot in other archetypes used to represent an imaging or histological finding.
MisuseNot to be used to represent the lateral location of a tumor. To do this, use the cluster archetypes from the “Anatomical Localization” family. Not to be used for any disease other than cancer.
PurposeTo record the focality or focus of the tumor in a cancer patient.

items
FocalityFocality: Focality of the tumor.
  • Unifocal [Singular tumor that occurs in exactly one body organ with a focus of disease. Also referred to as unilocular or solitary.]
  • Bifocal [The tumor occurs in one body organ with two sites of disease.]
  • Multifokal [The tumor occurs in several locations of a body organ at the same time, with several foci of disease. Also called multilocular.]
  • Unknown/inadequately described [The focality cannot be determined.]
  • Systemic [No tumor focus can be defined, only individual tumor cells in the body.]
LocalizationLocalization: Structured description of the localization of a tumor focus.
