ConceptGlomerular Filtration Rate
DescriptionGlomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) is the key measurement of renal function. It represents the flow of plasma from the glomerulus into Bowman’s space over a specified period of time. Changes in GFR are used to define and diagnose several pathologies.
UseUse to record the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) which has been estimated through any of the different types of measurements, such as: estimated GFR (eGFR), Inulin Clearance, Iohexol Clearance, Radioisotopes, Creatinine-Based Measurement of GFR ....etc. The unit of measurement is mL/min/1.73 m2 (milliliters per minute per 1.73 square meter)
PurposeTo record the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) of an individual.
