Concept | Glomerular Filtration Rate |
Description | Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) is the key measurement of renal function. It represents the flow of plasma from the glomerulus into Bowman’s space over a specified period of time. Changes in GFR are used to define and diagnose several pathologies. |
Use | Use to record the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) which has been estimated through any of the different types of measurements, such as: estimated GFR (eGFR), Inulin Clearance, Iohexol Clearance, Radioisotopes, Creatinine-Based Measurement of GFR ....etc. The unit of measurement is mL/min/1.73 m2 (milliliters per minute per 1.73 square meter) |
Purpose | To record the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) of an individual. |
