ConceptTherapy response
DescriptionEvaluation of the response of a disease to therapy. This helps to assess the success of treatment, e.g. radiation or chemotherapy for a tumor.
UseTo present the evaluation of the treatment success of an illness. This archetype can be used to represent the documented therapeutic response of the patient's disease. The assessment of response to treatment is usually defined by precise rules and is determined based on specific criteria. This defines when a (cancer) disease regresses, remains unchanged or progresses under a certain therapy. The characteristics of a response to therapy can be defined differently for different diseases. The assessment of the response is determined by the treating clinician. This archetype is typically documented as an outcome within therapy and is intended for use as procedure details within the procedure archetype.
MisuseDo not use to represent other research results or activities. Do not use to illustrate the normal development of an organ. Do not use to document the progress assessment of an examination finding.
PurposeTo demonstrate the evaluation of the response of a disease to therapy.
